Principal's Message
Welcome and thank you for visiting the Gallup Hill School (GHS) webpage. Gallup Hill School serves approximately 300 students from kindergarten through grade 6. Our goal is to provide a learning environment that enables all students to become successful members of our school community through purposeful and meaningful social and academic development.
At GHS we follow a set of shared values that guide our beliefs about teaching and learning. We believe not only that all children can learn, but that all children want to learn, and that they are entitled to a safe and engaging elementary school experience. We know that setting and reinforcing high expectations for student achievement, combined with targeted support, will result in academic excellence. Our goal is to foster independent learners who will continue to be successful life-long learners for many years to come. In that effort, we endeavor to create and sustain a learning environment rich in student accountability and leadership.
This year we will continue to grow our efforts towards engaging students in meaningful learning experiences that foster a quest for further knowledge. In order to do this, we make an immediate effort to get to know our students and what makes them tick. We believe that in order for us to tailor learning needs to individuals, we need to meet students at their current level of readiness and continue to provide them with learning activities and goals that excite and interest them.
One of the key ingredients to school success is family involvement. The partnership with our families is critical to our combined success. We welcome you to come and visit our school to observe or engage in our learning. Our success is truly a collaborative effort!
Sincerely,
Pam Austen, Principal
